Vaiśampāyana said: “O fair-faced lady, the best of the Bharatas would place the entire burden of the household upon me, and all of them—devoted to acts of reverent service—would remain engaged in worshipful duties and strive accordingly.”

The verse highlights dharmic delegation and trust: capable elders or guardians may be entrusted with the household’s burdens so that others can focus on disciplined service and worshipful duties, provided the arrangement supports righteousness and proper conduct.
The speaker reports that the foremost Bharata heroes (understood as the Pāṇḍavas) would entrust the entire management of the household to the narrator/subject, while they themselves remained devoted to upāsanā—acts of reverent attendance and disciplined practice—acting in a manner consistent with that devotion.
