कुरुध्व॑ विक्रमे बुद्धि मा व: काचिद् व्यथा भवेत् । जयतैनान सुदुर्वत्तान् दानवान् घोरदर्शनान्,तदनन्तर बलासुरविनाशक देवराज इन्द्रने अपनी उस सेनाको दानवोंसे पीड़ित होकर भागती देख उसे आश्वासन देते हुए कहा--'शूरवीरो! भय त्याग दो, इससे तुम्हारा मंगल होगा। हथियार उठाओ और पराक्रममें मन लगाओ। तुम्हें किसी प्रकार व्यथित नहीं होना चाहिये। इन भयंकर दिखायी देनेवाले दुराचारी दानवोंको जीतो। तुम्हारा कल्याण हो। तुम सब लोग मेरे साथ इन महाकाय दैत्योंपर टूट पड़ो।' इन्द्रकी यह बात सुनकर देवताओंको बड़ी सान्त्वना मिली

Markandeya said: “Fix your minds on valor; let no distress arise in you. Conquer these wicked, ill-conducted Dānavas of dreadful appearance.”
