स्कन्दस्य य इदं विप्र: पठेज्जन्म समाहित: । स पुष्टिमिह सम्प्राप्य स्कन्दसालोक्यमाप्नुयात्
skandasya ya idaṃ vipraḥ paṭhej janma samāhitaḥ | sa puṣṭim iha samprāpya skandasālokyam āpnuyāt ||
Mārkaṇḍeya said: “O brāhmaṇa, whoever recites this account of Skanda’s birth with a collected and focused mind gains prosperity and well-being in this very world; and, having attained such flourishing here, he ultimately reaches Skanda’s realm (sālokya), sharing in the divine presence of Skanda.”
