देवास्तत्रापि गच्छन्ति मार्गमाणा यथादिशम् | दृष्टवा त्वग्निरथर्वाणं ततो वचनमत्रवीत्,तब देवतालोग सब दिशाओंमें उनकी खोज करते हुए वहाँ भी पहुँचने लगे। एक दिन अथर्वा (अंगिरा)-को देखकर अग्निने उनसे कहा--
devās tatrāpi gacchanti mārgamāṇā yathādiśam | dṛṣṭvā tv agnir atharvāṇaṃ tato vacanam abravīt ||
Mārkaṇḍeya said: “The gods, searching in every direction as they had been instructed, came even to that place. Then Agni, on seeing Atharvan, addressed him with words—thus the next counsel and action are set in motion.”
