Vāyu said: “As it sped into the sky, the Sudarśana discus blazed forth in form and radiance—like a second sun rising at the end of an age, as though the world were rushing toward dissolution.”

The verse uses apocalyptic imagery to convey the overwhelming, world-ordering force of divine weapons: when dharma is protected or restored, the power involved can appear cosmic in scale, inspiring reverence and restraint rather than mere fascination with violence.
Vāyudeva describes the Sudarśana discus as it moves through the sky; its brilliance is compared to a second sun at the end of the yuga, emphasizing its terrifying radiance and extraordinary potency.
