मार्कण्डेय उवाच बाढमित्येव तं व्याध: कृताञज्जलिरुवाच ह । प्रदक्षिणमथो कृत्वा प्रस्थितो द्विजसत्तम:,मार्कण्डेयजी कहते हैं--युधिष्ठिर! कौशिक ब्राह्मणकी बात सुनकर धर्मव्याधने हाथ जोड़कर कहा--“बहुत अच्छा! अब आप अपने घरको पधारें।” तदनन्तर विप्रवर कौशिक धर्मव्याधकी परिक्रमा करके वहाँसे चल दिया
Mārkaṇḍeya uvāca— bāḍham ity eva taṃ vyādhaḥ kṛtāñjalir uvāca ha | pradakṣiṇam atho kṛtvā prasthito dvijasattamaḥ ||
Mārkaṇḍeya said: The hunter, with hands joined in reverence, replied to him, “So be it—certainly.” Then the best of brāhmaṇas, having circumambulated him in respect, set out from that place.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
Dharma is validated by inner discipline, humility, and right action; even one socially labeled “low” (a hunter) may embody higher righteousness, worthy of reverence from a brāhmaṇa.
After hearing Kauśika’s words, the dharma-vyādha respectfully agrees with folded hands; Kauśika then honors him by circumambulation and departs.
