ब्राह्मण उवाच एवमेतानि पुरुषा दुःखानि च सुखानि च । आप्ुवन्ति महाबुद्धे नोत्कण्ठां कर्तुमहसि,ब्राह्मण बोला--महामते! मनुष्य इसी प्रकार दुःख और सुख पाते रहते हैं। इसके लिये आपको चिन्ता नहीं करनी चाहिये
brāhmaṇa uvāca: evam etāni puruṣā duḥkhāni ca sukhāni ca āpnuvanti mahābuddhe notkaṇṭhāṃ kartum arhasi.
The Brāhmaṇa said: “O great-minded one, people meet with sorrows and with joys in just this way. Therefore you should not give way to anxious longing or distress.”
ब्राह्मण उवाच
That joy and sorrow naturally come to human beings; therefore one should not be overwhelmed by anxious longing or worry, but maintain steadiness of mind.
A Brāhmaṇa addresses a person described as “great-minded,” offering counsel and consolation: since people inevitably encounter both happiness and suffering, the listener should not fall into distress.
