Guṇa-vibhāga and Prāṇa–Agni–Yoga Upadeśa
atha śuśrāva rājarṣi tam uttāḍako narādhipa | vanaṃ samprasthitaṃ rājan bṛhadaśvo dvijottamaḥ ||
Mārkaṇḍeya said: Then Uttāḍaka, lord of men, heard that the royal sage Bṛhadaśva—the foremost among brāhmaṇas—had set out for the forest. The tidings propel the tale: a revered knower of dharma is on the move, and his journey becomes the occasion for counsel and instruction.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse implicitly highlights the ethical weight of seeking and heeding wise counsel: the movement of a rājarṣi and dvijottama toward the forest signals that dharma-guided knowledge is carried through journeys and transmitted through timely encounters.
Mārkaṇḍeya reports that Uttāḍaka learns Bṛhadaśva has departed for the forest. This functions as a narrative transition, setting up the next interaction or instruction connected with Bṛhadaśva’s forest-going.
