“That foremost of kings, taking refuge in my yogic power, will—by your command, O brahmin-seer—slay the demon Dhundhu and become renowned in the world by the name ‘Dhundhumāra.’” Having spoken thus to the sage, Lord Viṣṇu vanished from sight.

Righteous action gains decisive power when aligned with dharma, sanctioned by a seer’s authoritative command, and supported by divine śakti; such action protects the world and yields enduring renown that reflects the deed.
Mārkaṇḍeya reports Viṣṇu’s assurance to a sage: the foremost king (Kuvalāśva, in context) will rely on Viṣṇu’s yogic power, kill the demon Dhundhu by the sage’s instruction, and become famous as ‘Dhundhumāra’; after speaking, Viṣṇu vanishes.
