Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the ethical and religious value of dāna—especially giving dakṣiṇā in the form of cows—suggesting that sustained acts of generosity and ritual duty can leave enduring, tangible marks on the world, even shaping sacred places.

The speaker explains the origin of a particular lake: it was created by the repeated movement of cows that had been gifted as dakṣiṇā. He then states that he resides at that very lake, marking it as a significant locale within the story’s sacred landscape.
