ततो विहारैराहारैमोहितश्न यथेप्सया । महामोहे सुखे मग्नो नात्मानमवबुध्यते,इसके बाद इच्छानुसार आहार-विहारसे मोहित हो महामोहमय सुखमें निमग्न रहकर वह मनुष्य अपने आत्माके ज्ञानसे वंचित हो जाता है
tato vihārair āhārair mohitaś ca yathā-ipsayā | mahāmohe sukhe magno nātmānam avabudhyate ||
Thereafter, deluded by indulgence in pleasures and by food and recreation pursued according to one’s whims, a person sinks into the happiness born of great delusion and fails to awaken to the truth of the Self.
शौनक उवाच
Indulgence in food and amusements pursued merely by personal whim breeds delusion (moha). When one becomes absorbed in such deceptive pleasure, one loses discernment and does not realize the Self; therefore restraint and clarity are necessary for dharmic living.
Śaunaka states a general moral-psychological observation: after a person gives in to desired enjoyments, he becomes deluded and, immersed in that delusive happiness, fails to awaken to self-knowledge.
