Educational Q&A

Righteous rule is shown as restoring safety and moral order, and then expressing legitimacy through disciplined ritual and generosity. The king’s power is framed as service—protecting society and honoring dharma through proper rites and gifts.

Mārkaṇḍeya describes a future time when Kalki will eliminate lawlessness and hostile forces, perform a great Aśvamedha sacrifice, and ceremonially grant the earth to the Brahmins—signaling the re-establishment of dharmic order.
