Educational Q&A

The verse presents a traditional measure of cosmic time, stating that the Kṛta Yuga is reckoned as four thousand years, framing dharma and human conduct within a larger cyclical order.

Vaiśaṃpāyana is reporting a doctrinal statement about the length of the Kṛta Yuga as part of a broader discussion on yugas and the progression of time and righteousness across ages.
