Vaiśampāyana said: “With anger gone and the inner taint of sin removed, wander freely wherever your heart desires. Thereafter, foremost and free from grief, you shall enter your famed royal city—Nāgapura, the excellent realm, the celebrated capital.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse teaches that rightful return to stability—especially royal or social responsibility—should follow inner discipline: anger must be relinquished and moral taint cleansed; only then can one proceed sorrowlessly toward one’s proper station.
Vaiśampāyana reports counsel given to a kingly figure: first roam as desired to regain composure, free from wrath and dejection, and then return—renowned and grief-free—to the celebrated capital (named here as Nāgapura) and the well-ordered realm.
