Sarasvatī–Tārkṣya Saṃvāda: Agnihotra-vidhi, Dāna-phala, and Mokṣa-prasaṅga (सरस्वती–तार्क्ष्यसंवादः)
प्रस्थाप्यतां पाण्डव धार्तराष्ट्र: सुयोधन: पापकृतां वरिष्ठ: । स सानुबन्ध: ससुहृद्गण श्न भौमस्य सौभाधिपतेश्व मार्गम्,पाण्डुनन्दन! अब आप पापात्माओंके शिरोमणि धृतराष्ट्रपुत्र दुर्योधनको उसके सुहृदों और सम्बन्धियों-लहित उसी मार्गपर भेज दीजिये, जहाँ भौमासुर और शाल्व गये हैं
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
prasthāpyatāṃ pāṇḍava dhārtarāṣṭraḥ suyodhanaḥ pāpakṛtāṃ variṣṭhaḥ |
sa sānubandhaḥ sa-suhṛd-gaṇaś ca bhaumasya śaubhādhipateś ca mārgaṃ pāṇḍunandana ||
Vaiśampāyana said: “O Pāṇḍava, let Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s son Suyodhana—foremost among evildoers—be sent forth on that very path taken by Bhaumāsura and by the lord of Śaubha (Śālva), together with his associates and his circle of friends.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse frames persistent wrongdoing as leading to the same destructive ‘path’ as notorious asuras and tyrants. It underscores an ethical logic of consequence: those who choose adharma align themselves with the fate of earlier exemplars of evil.
Vaiśampāyana reports a forceful statement urging that Duryodhana, branded the foremost sinner, be sent away—along with his supporters—on the very course associated with Bhaumāsura and Śālva, implying expulsion and/or a doom-laden trajectory comparable to theirs.
