न सम प्रज्ञायते किंचिदम्भसा समवस्तृते । सम॑ वा विषम वापि नद्यो वा स्थावराणि च,सब ओर इतना पानी भर गया कि ऊँचा-नीचा, समतल, नदी अथवा पेड़-पौधे आदिका पता नहीं चलता था
na samaṁ prajñāyate kiñcid ambhasā samavastṛte | samaṁ vā viṣamaṁ vāpi nadyo vā sthāvarāṇi ca ||
Vaiśampāyana said: When everything was covered over by water, nothing could be clearly made out—whether the ground was level or uneven, where the rivers ran, or even where the fixed things like trees and plants stood. The scene underscores how overwhelming calamity can erase ordinary distinctions and orientation, leaving beings dependent on discernment and restraint rather than familiar landmarks.
