Arjuna said: “That wondrous, divine being would at one moment plunge into the earth, at another rise upward again; sometimes it would swiftly move in slanting directions, and sometimes it would quickly sink into the waters.”
अजुन उवाच
The verse highlights the limits of ordinary perception when confronted with the divine or extraordinary; it implicitly encourages humility, careful discernment, and reverence rather than hasty conclusions.
Arjuna is describing a marvelous, divine phenomenon/being whose movements are unpredictable—plunging into the earth, rising upward, moving obliquely, and submerging in water—emphasizing its supernatural nature.
