Arjuna uvāca: nivartamānena mayā mahad dṛṣṭaṃ tato 'param | puraṃ kāmacaraṃ divyaṃ pāvakārka-samaprabham ||
Arjuna said: “O King, as I was returning, I saw something even more remarkable than what had preceded—a vast, celestial city that could move at will, shining with a radiance like fire and the sun. It seemed to go wherever its inhabitants desired.”
अजुन उवाच
The verse highlights the Mahābhārata theme that extraordinary power and splendor exist in higher realms, yet they are presented as objects of witness rather than ultimate goals—inviting discernment about desire (kāma) and the allure of divine opulence.
Arjuna reports to the king that, on his return journey, he beheld another immense celestial city—one that could travel wherever its residents wished and that blazed with fire-and-sun-like brilliance.
