Arjuna said: “Indeed, sages who longed for my victory praised me with fitting and sweet words—just as, during the Tārakāmaya war, they had once extolled Indra. In that great conflict, many divine seers and other great ṛṣis, brahmarṣis, and siddhas had come to witness the battle; all of them desired my triumph, and therefore they offered me laudatory speech.”

The verse highlights the moral power of righteous support: when a cause is perceived as aligned with dharma, even sages and perfected beings lend it strength through auspicious speech and praise, reinforcing courage and resolve without replacing personal effort.
Arjuna recounts that many seers and perfected beings came to witness a great battle and, wishing for his victory, praised him with appropriate and sweet words—likening their praise to the traditional stuti offered to Indra during the mythic Tārakāmaya conflict.
