Vaiśaṃpāyana said: Arjuna—whose conduct was worthy of reverence—was also saluted by Mādrī’s two sons (Nakula and Sahadeva). Meeting Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī), he consoled her with gentle reassurance; then, coming near his elder brother, he stood by Yudhiṣṭhira with humility and deference.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic conduct in family life: honoring elders and revered persons, acknowledging one’s place among brothers, and offering compassionate reassurance to those in distress—humility and empathy as marks of noble character.
Arjuna arrives among the Pāṇḍavas, receives respectful greetings from Nakula and Sahadeva, meets Draupadī and comforts her, and then stands near Yudhiṣṭhira in a modest, deferential manner.
