Vaiśampāyana said: Having thus instructed Yudhiṣṭhira—who was devoted to the highest forms of righteous action—the lord of the Guhyakas (Kubera), departed for Śveta, the foremost of mountains (Kailāsa).
वैशम्पायन उवाच
That the highest dharma is learned through disciplined instruction and then lived through ‘uttama-karman’—exemplary conduct. The divine teacher (Kubera) affirms Yudhiṣṭhira’s orientation to righteous action and leaves after completing the moral guidance.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Kubera, having given counsel to Yudhiṣṭhira, departs to Śveta—the श्रेष्ठ mountain identified in context with Kailāsa—signaling the close of a didactic encounter and a return to the divine realm.
