ततः स राक्षसैर्वाचा प्रतिषिद्ध: प्रतापवान् । मा मैवमिति सक्रोधैर्भर्सयद्धि: समन््ततः,उस समय क्रोधमें भरे राक्षस चारों ओरसे प्रतापी भीमको फटकारते हुए वाणीद्वारा रोकने लगे--“नहीं-नहीं, ऐसा न करो'
tataḥ sa rākṣasair vācā pratiṣiddhaḥ pratāpavān | mā maivam iti sa-krodhair bhartsayadbhis samantataḥ ||
Then the mighty one (Bhīma) was checked by the rākṣasas with their words. Filled with anger, they surrounded him on all sides and harshly rebuked him, saying, “No—do not do this.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights restraint: even a powerful warrior’s impulse to act is checked by admonition. It suggests that anger-driven action should be governed by counsel and appropriate limits, aligning strength with discernment.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that rākṣasas, enraged, surround the mighty Bhīma and verbally forbid him, scolding him from all sides and telling him, “Do not do this.”
