यच्च ते मत्परिज्ञाने कौतूहलमरिंदम । अनर्थकेषु को भाव: पुरुषस्य विजानतः,शत्रुदमन! तुम्हें मेरे पुरातन स्वरूपको देखने या जाननेके लिये जो कौतूहल हुआ है, वह ठीक नहीं है। किसी भी समझदार मनुष्यका निरर्थक विषयोंके लिये आग्रह क्यों होना चाहिये?
Transliteration
yac ca te mat-parijñāne kautūhalam ariṃdama | anarthakeṣu ko bhāvaḥ puruṣasya vijānataḥ ||
Translation
O subduer of foes, the curiosity you feel to recognize my former, ancient form is not fitting. For a discerning man who knows what truly matters, why should there be attachment to things that are ultimately purposeless?
