Hanuman said: “When his wife had been abducted, Raghava (Rama), together with his brother, set out in search of her. In the course of that search he saw, upon a mountain peak, Sugriva—the bull among monkeys.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights steadfast duty and loyalty: Rama does not abandon responsibility after loss, and he proceeds with his brother in disciplined pursuit of what is right, while also moving toward a righteous alliance (with Sugriva) rather than acting in isolation.
Hanuman briefly recounts a key Ramayana episode to Bhima: after Sita’s abduction, Rama and his brother search for her and, during that search, encounter Sugriva on a mountain peak—setting the stage for their friendship and cooperation.
