अथ दाशरथिरवीरो रामो नाम महाबल: । विष्णुर्मानुषरूपेण चचार वसुधातलम्‌,उस समय महाबली वीर दशरथनन्दन श्रीराम, जो साक्षात्‌ भगवान्‌ विष्णु ही थे, मनुष्यरूप धारण करके इस भूतलपर विचर रहे थे

atha dāśarathir avīro rāmo nāma mahābalaḥ | viṣṇur mānuṣa-rūpeṇa cacāra vasudhā-talam ||

Then the mighty hero Rāma, the son of Daśaratha—indeed Viṣṇu Himself—moved about upon the earth, having assumed a human form.
