Educational Q&A

The verse emphasizes truthful self-identification and the ethical weight of lineage in kṣatriya culture: one’s duties and honor are tied to acknowledged ancestry, while divine paternity (Vayu) underscores extraordinary strength used in service of dharma.

Bhima formally introduces himself, stating his dynastic affiliation (Kuru/Lunar line), his human mother (Kunti), and his divine father (Vayu), establishing authority and identity in the ongoing encounter.
