The verse highlights how environment shapes conduct: entering a realm associated with sages and divine beings implies a call to humility, self-control, and dharmic attentiveness—qualities expected of the Pāṇḍavas even amid hardship.
During their forest exile, the Pāṇḍavas proceed into the Gandhamādana mountain region, described as a celestial and ascetic habitat—frequented by Gandharvas, Apsarases, and Kinnaras, and inhabited by Ṛṣis, Siddhas, and gods.
