Educational Q&A

The verse foregrounds dharma through yajña: a righteous king supports sacred rites under a qualified sage, suggesting that power is ideally exercised in service of ritual order, social welfare, and reverence for spiritual authority.

Lomaśa introduces a new episode by marking the time: King Bṛhaddyumna begins a long sacrificial session (satra), with the sage Raibhya acting as the principal priest for whom the king is the patron.
