Lomaśa said: “Here, the mighty ascetic Cyavana, the Bhṛgu-descendant, became wrathful with great Indra. The powerful sage even immobilized Vāsava (Indra) on this very spot. Here too he obtained Sukanyā, the king’s daughter, as his wife; and, O noble one, he also made the Aśvin twins entitled to drink the Soma in the sacrifice.”

The verse highlights that tapas (spiritual discipline) can check even divine power when used to uphold fairness: Cyavana restrains Indra and secures rightful ritual status for the Aśvins, implying that authority should align with dharma rather than mere rank.
Lomaśa points out a sacred spot associated with Cyavana’s deeds: he became angry with Indra, immobilized him, married the princess Sukanyā, and ensured the Aśvin twins were granted the right to drink Soma in the sacrifice.
