Lomaśa said: “When he heard of Ṛṣyaśṛṅga’s coming, the king exerted himself to reach a firm decision through counsel. Unswerving from propriety, he deliberated together with his ministers and discovered a practical means (to bring the sage’s son).”

Educational Q&A

A ruler should not act impulsively; he should consult competent ministers, arrive at a clear decision, and pursue a workable means while remaining within the bounds of propriety (acyuta—‘not deviating’).

The king, hearing about Ṛṣyaśṛṅga, convenes skilled counselors, deliberates, and identifies a strategy to bring the ascetic youth to his realm—setting up the next steps of the episode.
