मैत्रेयागमनम् — The Arrival of Maitreya and the Admonition to Duryodhana

दण्डपाणिरिव क्ुद्ध: समरे प्रत्यधावत । तद्‌ वृक्षयुद्धमभवन्महीरुहविनाशनम्‌

daṇḍapāṇir iva kruddhaḥ samare pratyadhāvat | tad vṛkṣayuddham abhavan mahīruhavināśanam ||

Like an enraged wielder of the rod of punishment, he rushed forward in the battle. Then that fight with uprooted trees became a scene of devastation, felling great trees and making the grove itself a casualty of wrathful combat—showing how anger in war destroys not only foes but also the very ground that sustains life.
