Educational Q&A

Even when confronted by a person of bad intent, Yudhiṣṭhira maintains dharmic conduct—speaking plainly and truthfully, without deceit. The verse underscores integrity and transparency as ethical strengths rather than vulnerabilities.

After hearing the speech of an ill-intentioned man, Yudhiṣṭhira responds by giving his full identification—his gotra (lineage), name, and related details—rather than concealing or evading, and the narrator Vaiśampāyana reports this to the listener addressed as Bhārata.
