Kṛṣṇa’s Counsel to Dhṛtarāṣṭra in the Assembly

Vaiśaṃpāyana said: Duryodhana and Śakuni approached Śrī Kṛṣṇa, the unconquered scion of the Dāśārhas, while He was engaged in the evening rite, and said: “Govinda, King Dhṛtarāṣṭra has entered the assembly. Bhīṣma and the Kurus, with all the gathered kings, are there. Like the gods invoking Indra in heaven, they ask You to come and grant them audience.” Hearing this, Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa received them with exceedingly gentle, reassuring words.
Even when approached by politically motivated actors, Kṛṣṇa responds with measured, soothing speech—modeling restraint, courtesy, and diplomatic composure as instruments of dharma in a volatile pre-war setting.
Duryodhana and Śakuni come to Kṛṣṇa during evening worship and convey that Dhṛtarāṣṭra, Bhīṣma, the Kurus, and many kings are assembled and request Kṛṣṇa to appear in the court; Kṛṣṇa receives the message and greets them with calming words.
