Vaiśampāyana said: Kṛṣṇa sat down upon his seat, and the kings too took their places as was proper. O descendant of Bharata, when the sages—having accepted the arghya, the ceremonial offering of respect—were seated on their allotted seats, then the blessed Śrī Kṛṣṇa and the other kings also assumed their own seats.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic decorum: sages are honored first with arghya and proper seating, and only then do Kṛṣṇa and the kings take their seats—showing that spiritual authority and respectful hospitality guide public conduct.
In an assembly setting, the sages receive the arghya and sit on their assigned seats; afterward Śrī Kṛṣṇa and the other kings sit down according to established protocol.
