Vaiśampāyana said: As they spoke in conversations well-suited to the mighty, immeasurably radiant Kṛṣṇa, the night passed away—so swiftly that it seemed to Kṛṣṇa himself as though he had not even wished it to pass. Absorbed in mutually pleasing discourse on dharma and right conduct, their time slipped by unnoticed.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
When discourse is aligned with dharma and conducted with mutual respect, it absorbs the mind and refines judgment; time passes unnoticed, suggesting the power of ethical reflection and wise counsel over restless desire.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Kṛṣṇa spends the night in fitting conversation; the night elapses quickly, implying deep engagement in serious, dharma-oriented discussion (contextually, Kṛṣṇa’s counsel in the Udyoga Parva setting).
