Udyoga Parva Adhyāya 92: Kṛṣṇasya sabhāpraveśaḥ
Krishna’s Entry into the Royal Assembly
hite prayatamānaṁ māṁ śaṅked duryodhano yadi | hṛdayasya ca me prītir ānṛṇyaṁ ca bhaviṣyati ||
Even if Duryodhana should suspect me while I strive for what is truly beneficial, my heart will still be glad; for I will have done my duty and will stand free of the burden of obligation.
One should act for the true good (hita) and fulfill one’s duty without being shaken by others’ mistrust; inner satisfaction comes from having done what is right, becoming ‘free of debt’ (ānṛṇya) to one’s moral responsibility.
The speaker reflects that even if Duryodhana doubts his intentions while he attempts a welfare-oriented intervention, he will still feel content because he has sincerely tried to do what duty demands.
