Yudhiṣṭhira said: “Comfort her deeply—she is overwhelmed by grief for her sons. After offering your respectful salutations, you should also speak of the Pāṇḍavas by name, acknowledging them as her own.”
युधिष्ठिर उवाच
Even amid political crisis and impending war, dharma requires tenderness: one must honor elders, acknowledge kinship, and actively console those crushed by bereavement rather than speaking harshly or triumphantly.
Yudhiṣṭhira instructs the addressed person to approach an elder woman who is devastated by the loss of her sons, to offer respectful salutations, and to speak of the Pāṇḍavas by name—framing them as her own—so the encounter is grounded in family bonds and compassion.
