Udyoga Parva, Adhyāya 72 — Bhīmasena’s counsel on conciliation and Duryodhana’s disposition

Yudhiṣṭhira said: “In the very presence of the grandsire Bhīṣma, of Droṇa, of the wise Vidura, of virtuous brāhmaṇas and saintly men, and even before the king and the citizens of the city—Duryodhana, though you are generous, gentle by nature, self-controlled in mind and senses, and innately devoted to dharma and the welfare of all—deceived you at dice and robbed you by fraud. Yet even now he feels no shame for that wrongdoing.”
