Educational Q&A

The verse evokes a dharmic landscape: a pure, luminous place associated with perfected beings. Such imagery underscores that righteous endeavors are supported by auspicious, elevating environments and by the presence of the virtuous.

Vidura describes the Gandhamādana mountain as grove-like on all sides, radiant with divine medicinal plants, and inhabited by Siddhas and Gandharvas—setting a sacred, otherworldly scene within the Udyoga Parva narration.
