इदमन्यत्‌ प्रवक्ष्यामि यथा दृष्टं गिरो मया । श्रुत्वा तदपि कौरव्य यथा श्रेयस्तथा कुरु,कौरवनन्दन! पूर्वकालमें किसी पर्वतपर मैंने जैसा देखा था, उसके अनुसार यह एक दूसरी बात बता रहा हूँ। इसे भी सुनकर आपको जिसमें अपनी भलाई जान पड़े, वही कीजिये

idam anyat pravakṣyāmi yathā dṛṣṭaṃ giro mayā | śrutvā tad api kauravya yathā śreyas tathā kuru, kauravanandana ||

Vidura said: “I shall tell you yet another matter, exactly as I once witnessed it and as these words have remained with me. Hear this too, O scion of the Kurus; then act in the way that truly leads to your welfare.”
