Sañjaya said: “That hero who, with Kṛṣṇa as his second, once displayed his prowess to satisfy Agni (Jātavedas) and even defeated Indra (Purandara) when Indra fought against him—relying on the strength of that very Arjuna, the Pāṇḍavas stand ready to engage you in war.”

The verse underscores how righteous strength is amplified by divine alignment: Arjuna’s proven valor, especially when supported by Kṛṣṇa and directed toward a sacred purpose (appeasing Agni), becomes a moral and strategic foundation for the Pāṇḍavas’ readiness for war.
Sañjaya reminds the Kaurava side of Arjuna’s past exploits—acting with Kṛṣṇa, fulfilling Agni’s desire, and defeating Indra in combat—to emphasize that the Pāṇḍavas are confident and prepared to fight, relying chiefly on Arjuna’s formidable prowess.
