anādṛtya tu tad vākyam arthavad droṇabhīṣmayoḥ | tataḥ sa saṃjayaṃ rājā paryapṛcchata pāṇḍavān ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Disregarding the meaningful and weighty counsel spoken by Droṇa and Bhīṣma, King Dhṛtarāṣṭra then turned again to Saṃjaya and questioned him about the Pāṇḍavas.

Even sound and well-intentioned counsel becomes ineffective when a leader is ruled by attachment and bias; ethical governance requires honoring wise advice rather than seeking information that merely serves fear or favoritism.
After Droṇa and Bhīṣma offer meaningful counsel, Dhṛtarāṣṭra disregards it and resumes questioning Saṃjaya about the Pāṇḍavas, showing his continued preoccupation and inability to accept corrective guidance.
