Udyoga-parva Adhyāya 47 — Arjuna’s Deterrent Declaration
Sañjaya’s Report
ayuddhayamāno manasāpi yasya jayaṃ kṛṣṇaḥ puruṣasyābhinandet | evaṃ sarvān sa vyatīyādamitrān sendrān devān mānuṣe nāsti cintā ||
Sañjaya said: Even without fighting—indeed, even by intention alone—if Śrī Kṛṣṇa approves and celebrates a man’s victory, that man can overcome all his enemies, even if they were gods led by Indra. Then what need is there to worry about merely human foes?
Victory is ultimately secured by divine sanction and righteous alignment: if Kṛṣṇa approves a person’s triumph, even formidable opposition becomes surmountable; therefore fear of merely human adversaries is misplaced.
Sañjaya emphasizes Kṛṣṇa’s decisive role in the coming conflict, asserting that Kṛṣṇa’s endorsement alone guarantees success—so much so that even gods led by Indra would be overcome, making human enemies a lesser concern.
