Sañjaya said: When the Kaurava (Duryodhana) beholds those five heroic sons of Draupadī—still youthful in years yet fully trained in weapons, displaying valor beyond their age—rushing upon the Kaurava host with life itself held cheap, then in the very midst of war the son of Dhṛtarāṣṭra will be seized by bitter remorse for having provoked this conflict.

Educational Q&A

The verse underscores that initiating an unrighteous war rebounds upon the instigator: even apparent advantages collapse when dharma is violated, and the aggressor is left with remorse as the human cost becomes undeniable.

Sañjaya foretells that Duryodhana will witness Draupadī’s five young yet fully weapon-trained sons charging the Kaurava forces with fearless resolve, and that sight will trigger Duryodhana’s painful regret for having set the war in motion.
