वैशम्पायन उवाच
Before decisive action—especially when war and dharma are at stake—rulers should seek trustworthy information and direct testimony. The verse highlights the ethical value of informed deliberation rather than impulsive judgment.
After the night ends and morning comes, the assembled kings hurry into the royal hall to see Sañjaya, the charioteer’s son, presumably to hear or verify important news relevant to the unfolding political crisis.
