Sanatsujāta on the Imperceptible Eternal Light (यत्तच्छुक्रं महज्ज्योतिः)
evaṁrūpo mahātmā sa pāvakaṁ puruṣo giran | yo vaitat puruṣa veda tasyehārtho na riṣyate | yoginas taṁ prapaśyanti bhagavantaṁ sanātanam ||
Sanatsujāta said: “Such a great-souled person, as it were ‘swallowing’ the fire (of consuming experience) into himself, comes to know that Supreme Person. For one who truly knows that Person, his purpose in this world is not ruined—he becomes fulfilled and complete in what is to be done. The yogins directly behold that eternal, blessed Lord.”
Real knowledge is the direct realization of the Supreme Person (Puruṣa/Bhagavān). One who attains this realization becomes kṛtakṛtya—his human purpose is fulfilled and cannot be destroyed by worldly change.
In the Sanatsujātīya discourse within Udyoga Parva, Sanatsujāta instructs Dhṛtarāṣṭra on liberation and the highest good. Here he describes the realized great-souled person and affirms that yogins directly perceive the eternal Lord.
