Sanatsujāta–Dhṛtarāṣṭra Saṃvāda: Brahmacarya and the Formless Brahman

Udyoga Parva 44

तूष्णीमेक उपासीत चेष्टेत मनसापि न | तथा संस्तुतिनिन्दाभ्यां प्रीतिरोषौ विवर्जयेत्‌,इसलिये सब प्रकारकी चेष्टासे रहित होकर एकान्तमें उपासना करे, मनसे भी कोई चेष्टा न होने दे तथा स्तुतिमें राग और निन्दामें द्वेष न करे

tūṣṇīm eka upāsīta ceṣṭeta manasāpi na | tathā saṁstuti-nindābhyāṁ prīti-roṣau vivarjayet ||

Therefore let one dwell in silent, solitary contemplation, free from outward activity, and allow no agitation even in the mind. Likewise, one should abandon both attachment that arises from praise and anger that arises from blame.
