Vidura teaches that true happiness grows at the end of a life rightly lived: when one has studied well, fought only in a just and disciplined manner, performed meritorious deeds, and undertaken austerity with sincerity and steadiness. The verse frames happiness not as immediate pleasure, but as the mature fruit of dharma—earned through learning, righteous action, and self-restraint.
