Sañjaya, after offering my respectful salutations to that aged king Dhṛtarāṣṭra—who, though blind, is endowed with insight; who leads the Kurus; who is learned in many teachings; who serves and honors the elders; and who is wise—convey to him that I, Yudhiṣṭhira, am free from illness and safe.
युधिछिर उवाच
Even amid political tension, dharmic conduct begins with respect: honoring elders, acknowledging legitimate authority, and communicating with courtesy and concern for well-being.
Yudhiṣṭhira instructs Sañjaya to salute the elder king Dhṛtarāṣṭra and report that Yudhiṣṭhira is healthy and safe—an act of formal, diplomatic communication in the Udyoga Parva’s pre-war negotiations.
