Sañjaya said: The sons of Pṛthā are endowed with every form of dharma—marked by noble bearing, gentleness, and straightforwardness. Born in an excellent lineage, they are wholly free from cruelty. They are generous, guided by modesty, and discerning about the consequences and proper determination of actions.

Ethical excellence is shown not only in adherence to dharma but in temperament and conduct—gentleness, honesty, non-cruelty, generosity, modest restraint, and thoughtful discernment about the results of actions.
Sañjaya describes the Pāṇḍavas’ moral and personal qualities, emphasizing their righteous nature and fitness, as part of the broader Udyoga Parva context where characters assess virtues and faults while war approaches.
